The spotty grass has been removed, a yard of compost was tilled in, and I've planted 36 little herbs: Spearmint, Peppermint, Pennyroyal Mint, Mother of Thyme, Creeping Thyme and Lemon Balm. This is a perfect place for (very invasive) mint because the planting area is completely surrounded by concrete.
